Highly motivated, competent and reliable professional people develop, design and deliver Way Ahead programmes and events. They are selected for their qualifications, technical ability, interpersonal skills and all round experience in life and work.

Working to National Governing Body award guidelines ensures the highest standards of technical and safety cover. Some also have formal training qualifications for example, psychometric testing such as MBTI and are members of the Chartered Institute of Professional Development or the Institute of Management.

PHIL WAY (Director)
With a background rooted in a rich variety of personal and professional experience, Phil has been involved with education, training and development in a variety of contexts throughout his career. He possesses a potent mix of relevant academic qualifications and 'down to earth', practical skills.

Teaching in the classroom and the outdoors started an early enthusiasm for creating innovative learning experiences. Later, work with adults with special needs required designing programmes specific to their requirements that were accessible and inclusive. Working in this demanding environment led to increasing sensitivity to individual needs and considerable development of effective communication skills.

A growing interest in the business environment led to involvement in developing tailored learning experiences. Initially working in a supportive role on leadership and team programmes, Phil underpinned his theoretical training and increased his knowledge of corporate training and development issues. Now he has a wide range of practical experience gained with consultancies working in a variety of multinational companies.

Phil lives at Bantham beach, South Devon with his wife Alex and two boys Jack and Harry. They enjoy the sea and river there and all that goes with it such as canoeing, kite flying and surfing.

DONNA TIMMIS (Associate)
Donna has a wide range of experience in delivering management
training, graduate assessment and development, personal development and outdoor education which extends throughout the UK, Europe and USA'.

Her solid organisational skills and attention to detail allow her to perform a variety of roles which include; planning and design of programmes, project management, facilitation and coaching, outdoor technical support and safety & logistical cover.
Donna holds a Diploma in Performance Business Coaching and Psychology, is qualified to administer MBTI and is a Licensed Practitioner of NLP. She is trained and qualified to operate in a number of outdoor environments.

In her other life Donna leads expeditions and overseas charity events. She lives with her husband James on the banks of the River Tamar and they have recently had their first baby, Finnegan.
